2010 Junior High Girls Basketball Game Summaries
Temple vs Freedom Christian – 12/10/2010
After the big win on Thursday night, the Lady Crusaders had to bounce back on Friday to face Freedom Christian. In the first quarter the Lady Crusaders took an early lead going up 4-1. In the second quarter Temple only score 2 points but was able to hold on the lead by one point at half time. The score at the half was 6-5. In the third quarter the Lady Crusaders fell behind by two points. In the fourth quarter Temple tried to catch back up but in the end lost a close one with the final score of 13-18. Ashlee Anderson had 10 points for the Lady Crusaders while Abby Ryan added 2 points and Brooke James scored 1 point. The Lady Crusaders will learn from the game and hope to improve on the game.
Temple vs Concord – 12/9/2010
On Thursday evening, Temple played Concord Christian at home. The Lady Crusaders showed up ready to win. In the first quarter, the ladies from Temple took a 5-0 lead at the end of the first quarter. In the second quarter the Lady Crusaders held onto their lead and was leading at half time with the score of 9-5. In the third quarter both team fought hard to get the victory. Temple was out scored by one point in the quarter but held onto the lead going into the fourth. In the fourth quarter the Lady Crusaders fell behind but bounced back shortly to get the win. Temple won the game with the final score of 22-18. Ashlee Anderson who scored 11 points for the team led the Lady Crusaders in scoring. Also scoring for Temple was Allison Cate with 2 points, Anita Harrison with 5 points, and Karyson Bonifacius with 4 points. The Lady Crusaders won their first game of the season and now have a record of 1- 6. Temple next game is on Friday, December 10, 2010 against Freedom Christian.
Temple vs Berean Christian – 12/2/2010
The Lady Crusaders played at home on Thursday night against Berean Christian. In the first quarter the Lady Crusaders came out ready to play. The Lady Crusaders only scored two points in the quarter. Temple was down 2-11 at the end of the quarter. In the second quarter, the Lady Crusaders continued to struggle to score. At half time the score was Temple 5 and Berean 22. In the third quarter, the team made some adjustments, especially on defensively. The Lady Crusaders held Berean to score only 6 points in the quarter. In the fourth quarter the Lady Crusaders brought everything they had despite being down. Temple was able to score 10 points and hold Berean to only 3 points in the quarter. But in end it was not enough and the Lady Crusaders lost a tough game with the final score of 17-30. Ashlee Anderson led the team in scoring with 11 points. Karyson Bonifacius, Brook James, and Emily Ersenbeis each scored two points for the team. The Lady Crusaders will play at home on Thursday, December 9, 2010. Tipoff is scheduled for 5:00 p.m.
Temple vs Maryville Christian – 11/30/2010
On Tuesday evening, the Lady Crusaders played at home against Maryville Christian. In the first quarter Temple was able to score 5 points but fell behind with the score of 5-12 at the end of the quarter. In the second quarter the Lady Crusaders scored five more points before half time. At the half the score was 10-20. In the second half the Temple struggled to score and could not match up to a tough Maryville Team. The Lady Crusaders lost a tough game with the final score being 15-32. Allison Cate, Anita Harrison, Karson Bonfacius, and Ashlee Anderson led the team in scoring. The Lady Crusaders will face another tough opponent Berean Christian on Thursday, December 2, 2010.
Temple @ Episcopal School – 11/19/2010
The Lady Crusaders traveled across town to face a tough Episcopal School. In the first quarter, the Ladies of Temple Baptist fell behind early. In the second quarter the Lady Crusaders were only able to score four points before half time. The score at half was 4-22. In the second half of the game the Lady Crusaders scored five more points. The team could not match up to a tough Episcopal team. Temple lost a hard one with the final score of 9-30. Anita Harrison led the Lady Crusaders with 7 points and Brooke James added two points for the team. Temple will Maryville Christian at home on November 30, 2010.
Temple vs King’s Academy – 11/16/2010
The Lady Crusaders played their second home game of the season on Tuesday night against a tough King’s Academy Team. In the first quarter, Temple was neck-and-neck with King’s. The score at the end of the period was 8-9. In the second quarter the Lady Crusaders struggled and only score 2 points. The score at half time was 10-19. In the third quarter King’s Academy went on a big run and the Lady Crusaders could not keep up. The Ladies were able to score 6 points. In the final quarter, Temple scored 8 points before the end of the game and only allowed King’s Academy to score 4 points. The Lady Crusaders lost a tough game with the final score of 24-37. Anita Harrison led the team in scoring with 14 points and Ashlee Anderson added 10 points for the Lady Crusaders. Temple is now 0-3 and hopes to improve in the upcoming games.
Temple @ First Lutheran – 11/15/2010
The Lady Crusaders traveled to First Lutheran on Monday night. In the first quarter, Temple came out ready to play and took the lead at the end of the quarter with the score of 8-6. In the second quarter the Lady Crusaders were only able to score 2 points. The Ladies were behind at half time with the score of 10-18. In the third quarter, the team was able to score 4 more points, but were still down by 12 points. The Lady Crusaders fought hard in the final quarter of the game and scored 8 points. In the end, Temple lost with the final score of 20-35. The Lady Crusaders were led in scoring by Ashlee Anderson who had 15 points. Also scoring for the team was Karsyn Bonifacius with 4 points and Allison Cate with 1 point. Temple will play at home on Tuesday, November 16, 2010 at 5:00 p.m.
Temple vs Knoxville Ambassadors – 11/12/2010
The Lady Crusaders opened their season at home against Knoxville Ambassadors. In the first quarter, the game was close with the score of 2-6. In the second quarter, the Lady Crusaders continued to fall behind with the score of 5-17. In the second half the Lady Crusaders scored two points. The Lady Crusaders lost to a tough team with the final score of 7-48. Ashlee Anderson led the team, scoring all seven points.
