Our Faculty
Temple Preschool
Mrs. Paulette Deeringer has taught kindergarten students at the Academy for over 20 years. She graduated from Western Kentucky University with a Bachelor of Science in Education. Mrs. Deeringer has 29 years of overall teaching experience. She and her husband, Dennie, have one daughter.
Temple Elementary School
Mrs. Cindy Ewing teaches first grade at the Academy. She graduated from Cedarville College with a Bachelor of Arts and has over fifteen years of teaching experience. Mrs. Ewing is heavily involved in the extracurricular activities of Temple. She serves as the Safety Patrol Coordinator and is vital in the fundraising for the Elementary School. She and her husband, Loyd, have four children.
Mrs. Michelle Sewell teaches second grade at the Academy. SHe has received her Bachelor of Civil Engineering from Auburn University. Mrs. Sewell has been teaching for more than five years and has been with Temple since 2009. When asked what she would say to a prospective student she states, " At Temple we are here to help you as the parent, to complement what you are teaching them at home." Mrs. Sewell and her husband Ben are faithful members of the Temple Baptist Church.
Miss Amber Lecroy teaches fourth grade at the Academy. She has received her Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from The Crown College of the Bible. Miss Lecroy is also heavily involved in extracurricular activities as the Junior High girls basketball coach, and the Elementary speech coach. When asked what makes Temple unique to you, she states, " The students at TBA are not pushed through a system but thoroughly discipled and nurtured as they seek to achieve their personal best."
Mr. David Evans teaches fifth grade, and Latin at the Academy. He has received his Bachelors Degree in Biblical Studies, Masters of Ministry Degree, and a Masters of Divinity from The Crown College of the Bible. He is also certified in Phonetic Reading and Instruction. Mr. Evans also excels as a linguist, familiar in Greek, Latin, and Hebrew. When asked to summarize his teaching philosophy in one sentence he states, " Developing the mind of Christ , inwardly and outwardly, academically and spiritually, in the life of a child." He and his wife Carole take great joy in serving faithfully at Temple.
Miss Kellie Lollar teaches sixth grade at the Academy. She has received her Bachelors of Biblical Studies and Elementary Education from The Crown College of the Bible. Miss Lollar also serves faithfully at Temple Baptist Church in the 5th and 6th grade Sunday School class.
Mrs. Stephanie Beard has been teaching since 2008 at the Academy. She teaches music in the elementary school and serves as a teacher’s aide. Mrs. Beard has a special connection to Temple as an alumnus. When asked about her school she states, " Having graduated from the academy (Temple) I feel a unique connection with the ministry here. I have a special love for my church and school." She and her husband, Justin, have two sons.
Temple Junior High School
Mr. Julian Evans teaches 8th grade Earth Science. He graduated from Community Bible Institute with a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science. He has recently finished his doctoral candidacy. He has eighteen years of teaching experience. He and his wife, Jean, have three adult children.
Mrs. Charlene Kiser is currently the Supervisor of the Elementary School also teaching 7th grade life science. She graduated from Bryan College with a Bachelor of Science in Education and received her Master of Christian Education from The Crown College of the Bible. She has over thirty-eight years of teaching experience. Mrs. Kiser, who is widowed, has a son, and a granddaughter.
Mr. Todd Hickman teaches U.S. History, Tennessee History, Bible, and Physical Education in the 7th and 8th grades, as well as 9th grade Health. He graduated from Maranatha Baptist College with a Bachelor of Science. He has been teaching since 1991. Mr. Hickman also serves as Supervisor of the Junior High School. He and his wife, Denise, have three sons.
Temple High School
Mrs. Jean Evans is the director of Temple Homeschool. She also teaches Latin at the Academy. Mrs. Evans received her Bachelor of Science from Baptist Bible College in Clarks Summit, PA and has eighteen years of teaching experience. She and her husband, Julian, have three grown children.
Mr. Dwayne Hickman served as the principal of the Academy from 1999 through 2011. He now teaches high school Bible and General Math. He received his Bachelor of Science from Oklahoma Baptist College and received his Master of Christian Education from Crown Graduate School. Mr. Hickman teaches at The Crown College of the Bible as an educational instructor. Mr. Hickman has twenty-four years of teaching experience. He and his wife, Chelle, have four children.
Mr. Tim Missey has been teaches Biology, Physics, Geometry, Chemistry, Physical Science, and Pre-Calculus. Mr. Missey graduated from the University of Arkansas with a Bachelor of Science in Animal Science and has received his Masters Degree in Ministry and Christian Education from The Crown College of the Bible. One of Mr. Missey's greatest joys is teaching the College-age Sunday School class at the Temple Baptist Church. He and his wife Jessica serve faithfully at the Academy.
Mr. Joshua Cehulik serves as Fine Arts Director, also teaching courses in Personal Finance and high school Bible. He has received his Bachelors of Biblical Studies in Music Ministry from The Crown College of the Bible. Mr. Cehulik is also certified by the National Association of Teachers of Singing, and a member of the American Choral Directors Association. He and his wife serve faithfully in the music program, when asked about his teaching philosophy he states, " Every student is an individual designed by God. Schools are not and cannot be a factory, each child needs individual attention to become the person God created them to be."
Mr. Michael Reis teaches 9th through 12th grade English. He graduated from West Coast Bible College with his Bachelor of Arts. He has been teaching since 1994. When asked about his greatest joy of teaching, he states, " Seeing a child's potential and see him go beyond that potential with God's help." Mr. Reis and his wife have three children.
Mr. Jared Berry teaches Bible and language. He also works alongside Mr. Michael Scoggins in the athletic department. Mr. Berry has served with the academy since 2010. He and his wife Elizabeth are faithful members of the Temple Baptist Church
Mrs. Lea Turner teaches Home Economics, girls’ Physical Education, and Health. She graduated from Ohio University with her Bachelor of Science. She has been teaching for thirty years. Mrs. Turner and her husband, Ken, have four adult children, and a number of grandchildren.
Mr. Dan Stockton directs the elementary, middle school, and high school bands. Mr. Stockton has received his Bachelor of Science from Western Baptist Bible College and a Master of Education from Pensacola Christian College. He has had over 30 years of teaching experience and is widely recognized as an authority on music by his peers. Mr. Stockton and his wife Deborah have two adult children.
